The Paper Place is proud to showcase the work of Toronto artist Katie Muth, who studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design. Muth is an independent artist and illustrator who designs and prints in her home-based workshop. As a printmaker, Muth has mastered a variety of techniques and has produced work ranging from large hand-printed kites to delicate limited-edition artist books. Although she has previously worked in etching, serigraphy, and lithography, Muth prefers lino-cut relief printing as her primary means of expression.
Muth’s bio states that “lino-cut images depict things from her life that she cherishes most” and that “her intent is to make beautiful creations that share this joy”.
The Paper Place carries a variety of Muth’s lino-cut greeting cards, including a charming series depicting park animals.
The park animal cards have been printed on a letterpress at Kozo Studio. Muth has used archival quality, creamy natural white paper that is 60% recycled (30% post-consumer), and packaged with a 100% recycled brown paper bag envelope. Cards measure 4.25″ x 5.5″ and are blank inside.
