Cycling through the Post

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

Two of my favourite things: my bicycle and letter writing.

So why not combine the two?

Tucked inside each envelope is a little packet of bicycle shaped paperclips. And there’s a 1974 bicycle stamp on every envelope.

Now it’s time to bike over to the nearest post box and get these sent!

Cursive Letters

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

I have always had a thing for neat cursive handwriting.  This paper reminded me of learning the art of cursive.  Plus the green looks like the old chalkboards in my childhood classrooms.

I think it’s high time we get down to writing some fine letters together.  I’ll be writing (and typing!) away at the Letter Writing Summer Social this Wednesday July 25th from 7 until 9 in the evening.  Let’s write!

P.S. I’m head over heels for the days of the week washi tape!  Aren’t you?

Items from this post available at The Paper Place:

-Cavallini Vintage inspired papers including Chalkboard Penmanship paper

-decorative vellum envelopes

-washi tape including the Days of the Week tape

-krafty cute Japanese address labels

Ahoy! Summery Nautical Notes

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

Summer has arrived in Toronto in full effect.  Hello heatwave!  I sat down (poolside) to write some letters earlier this week.  Nautical notecards pair up perfectly with zodiac stamps and graph paper tape.

I’m planning a little bike ride to the Toronto Islands next week.  It’s our little piece of paradise in the city.  Let’s hope I get there more than once this summer!

Happy writing!

You’re Number One!

Wednesday, May 30th, 2012

I’ve been short on free time lately but still itching to craft.  What better way to spend an afternoon then to make cards using metallic gold and silver stickers?  The award ribbon stickers were perfect for my  typewritten “You’re Number One” cards.  (I also made a “Number One Dad” card since Father’s Day is just around the corner.)

With Titanic postage and silver starburst seals the cards are ready for the post!

You Say “Goodbye”, I say “Hello”!

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

Sometimes you just feel like saying hello. These cards fit my recent letter-writing mood perfectly. I adore the nostalgic designs. Remember rotary dial telephones? I sure do!

I made little packets of sweet dot stickers and tucked them into the envelopes. I love getting tiny surprises enclosed in letters, so here is hoping my penpals will be delighted too!

The letters were completed with current Queen postage, stamped with vintage-looking rubber stamps and sealed with gold and white striped washi tape. I’m off to the mailbox now.

Happy writing!
