Our windows are aglow with Paper Snowflake Lanterns and Washi Snowflakes!!

Monday, November 19th, 2012

We are all ready for the holidays with our beautiful paper snowflake windows!  This year we have our lacey paper snowflake lanterns and new delicate handmade Japanese washi snowflakes featured, getting us all in the mood for some snow.

SNOWFLAKE LANTERNS

Our Snowflake lanterns were recently featured in House & Home Magazine!  These irresistible Paper Snowflakes are a constant crowd pleaser when it comes to holiday decorating.  They are large (about 2 feet wide) yet delicate in appearance and definitely make a statement!  All premade, with only very minor assembly required, they are super easy to hang in minutes.  They are designed to take a chandelier lighting cord and look amazing when lit.  Their pleasant glow makes you feel all warm inside while is blizzardy and cold outside… instant holiday spirit!

Check them out along with some other inspiring ideas using The Paper Place products and paper in November’s issue of Canadian House & Home.

For anyone out of the Toronto area that is interested in purchasing the lanterns just give us a call and ask for the styles by name!  The paper snowflakes are $49.95 each. The lighting cords are sold separately for $11.95.  We would be happy to ship them to you!

WASHI SNOWFLAKES

New this year, these beautiful snowflakes are handmade in Japan out of delicate washi papers. They are a breeze to apply and after the season is over you can easily remove them and use them over and over again for years of enjoyment. They are flying off the shelves and we have already had to reorder them! Watch the video below (although unfortunately not in English) to see the application and removal process. So much fun!!!

We have the snowflakes available in 3 sizes, as well as a gorgeous gift box containing all 22 designs of the smallest size. Lovely as decorations and as gifts!

Letter Writing Summer Social Success!

Friday, July 27th, 2012

As many of you know, this July has been Letter Writing Month here at the Paper Place. This past Wednesday evening, we held our Letter Writing Summer Social at the store – an evening of letter writing, socializing and treats!

This was our first time having an event like this one and we had both unanticipated attendance and SUCH a good time! Guests had access to our craft stash, vintage typewriter and were invited to participate in The Love Lettering Project and sift through vintage stamps to mail their creations at the Pop-Up Postal Outlet! Thank you so much to everyone who came out and participated, wrote some letters, snacked on macarons, chatted and made beautiful things! We also extend a very special thanks to Lindsay of the Love Lettering Project, Jaime of Send More Mail and Kate of Toronto’s First Post Office for joining us for this fantastic evening!

Customer Creations – CZ Paper Arts

Saturday, June 9th, 2012

We recently got a message from an amazing paper artist out of Quebec City named Cristina Zaletta.  She makes gorgeous paper-cuts, origami sculptures and book works using some of our papers.

These intricate paper-cuts are made from our Chiri tissue papers!

This Origami lampshade is folded from Tarasen Daisy tissue!

Thanks so much for sharing Cristina!
