Saturday, July 10th, 2010The Never Ending Book
Monday, August 31st, 2009The never ending book is fun and easy paper toy to entertain you and keep those fidgeting fingers busy! I like to keep one at my desk as a thinking (or procrastinating) tool. The book has four pages that rotate, folding out of one another in a continuous puzzling cycle.
Here’s how you make one…
Choose any kind of paper you like, Origami paper works well. Start by folding the piece of paper in half four times until you have sixteen equal sections. A bone folder really helps to get those creases just right. Once you have your creases made, flatten out your sheet and with a utility knife or a pair of scissors, cut out the four center squares.
Next, referring to the template as a guide, use a glue stick to fold over and paste square A to A and B to B. The next step is to then glue the back sides of square C to C and D to D. Give it a test run to make sure all the folds are well creased, decorate and you’re done!
Check out the video to see then never ending book in action. For this book I chose some of my favourite chiyogami papers to describe the four seasons.
Try it yourself, make a never ending in just about any theme for any occasion!
