Finding the perfect wedding card!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

I don’t know about you guys, but I will be attending more than a few weddings this summer. And if your mom is anything like mine, she taught you never to show up at a wedding without a card for the bride and groom.

My problem with wedding cards is that they can get a little frumpy for my taste. Lots of flowers and long winded, sappy messages… that is just not my style. Lucky for me, and those of you searching for a more contemporary take on a wedding card, The Paper Place has got us covered! We carry a wide range of fun and funny wedding cards with blank interiors, so you can write your own message from the heart.

Kozuke Paper and Ink Jet

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013

Friends of mine got married and I wanted to give them a unique wedding present. In Adobe Illustrator I created an image of the two of them from a photograph taken on their special day. Kozuke comes in both a white and ivory tone and when printed on an ink jet printer it offers subtle shades of colour. I love the” cloudiness” of the paper and the final result. They did too!

Oh So Pretty

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

We carry a variety of unique papers that don’t get the exposure they deserve. One would be Sudare Tissue Roll. Sudare is a lovely white rayon tissue that has a subtle stripe and a lot of charm. The roll is 40″ x 109 yards and is ideal for when you need something pretty but in a larger size. We have cut the tissue into narrow strips and sewn hand cut flowers to them using waxed linen thread and glass beads. What has been created is something that can be used as a background for photographs, to create atmosphere for a wedding ceremony or to hang between two trees at an outdoor event. Delicate, transparent and oh so pretty.

We’re Bringing Paper Chains Back…. Ombre Style!

Thursday, July 11th, 2013

We wanted to do something really simple but with lots of impact for the latest window display so we decided on paper chains but with a twist! After a bit of math and colour selection we went to work on the massive amount of chains that would be needed.

Paper Chain Evolving

After completing the section for the first window we hung it up in the office to see if our math was working. Looking good so far!

Paper Chain Test

And the finished product!! What a great idea for a wedding backdrop, party decor or a kids room!
